My only real fear has always been snakes. With 2025 being the Year of the Snake, it felt like the right time to confront it head-on. I started by intentionally looking at photos of snakes, the same images I would have once turned away from. This painting evolved from that process. I wanted to portray a snake that feels powerful, striking, and magnetic, rather than terrifying, a version of the snake that represents courage, transformation, and facing what once seemed impossible.
